Common questions from parents

When does my child start creative writing?

From Primary 1. At Next Level Enrichment, composition is not left until the upper-primary years — P1 pupils begin building sentences and short pieces early, so by the time writing carries real marks it already feels natural rather than daunting.

Why do children who speak English well still lose marks?

Because the paper does not test whether a child speaks English — it tests precision under exam conditions. A fluent child still drops marks on synthesis and transformation, on grammar cloze, and on Situational Writing, where the format and the audience carry the marks. These are mechanical, learnable skills, and they are usually where the fastest gains sit.

How does Next Level Enrichment teach writing?

Through modelled writing and clear structures rather than 'write more and hope'. Next Level Enrichment shows the technique, writes alongside the class, then marks the work and returns it with specific corrections — because a composition handed back with only a grade on it teaches a child nothing.
